This book is not an instruction manual or a celebration of criminal damage.
It is a record of a moment in time. It explores why people continue to risk arrest for little more than a name on a panel, why others spend their careers removing those names, and why, despite decades of enforcement, the urge to leave a mark has never completely disappeared.
Whether viewed as art, vandalism, protest, obsession, or all of those things at once, the resurgence of graffiti on the London Underground in 2025 revealed something about the city itself. Because every mark tells a story. The question is why it returned??
